What does the word ‘farmhouse’ bring to mind for you? Do your thoughts go to a large plantation style home?
Or a home with a large wrap around porch? Even a more modest home with a small porch on the front?
Whatever your idea of a farmhouse is, would you like to build one? I’m bringing you some gorgeous home plans for you to browse through and find the one you’ve always dreamt of.
Here are the farmhouse plans which could potentially be the home of your future:
1. The Scandinavian Home
This is a more modest version of a farm home. It has a good sized front porch which is great for relaxing after a long day.
However, it has a beautiful layout within the home with room for entertaining and enough room to house a traditionally sized family.
2. The Southern Country Farmhouse
I’m partial to this house plan as it reminds me of the home in which I grew up. I love the dormers on the roof and the large wrap around porch.
But this home is also a nice size. It isn’t too large as it’s only 1700 square feet, but it still has enough room for three bedrooms and two and a half baths.
3. The Open Layout Farmhouse
Some of the older farmhouses have a more traditional layout instead of an open floor plan. These house plans combine the outside appearance of a traditional farmhouse, but also give you a more modern open floor plan.
However, because this is a larger home, it offers room for entertaining, a gorgeous kitchen layout, and much more.
4. Farmhouse with Classy Master Suite
Are you looking for a farmhouse design but would like for your home to be a little more upscale? Then this could be the floor plan for you.
The entire house is right at 3200 square feet and boasts four bedrooms. Plus, it offers a bonus room as well.
5. Country Farmhouse Plan with Bonus Over Garage
If you need a bonus to the home you build, consider this floor plan. This house has a nice sized bonus room over the garage.
But the bonus room is only the tip of the iceberg. This home comes in at 3400 square feet, has a lovely master suite, two other bedrooms with another bathroom, and back to back fireplaces in the central part of the home.
6. 3-Bedroom Farmhouse with Wrap Around Porch
When I envision a farmhouse, this is the image which comes to my mind. If you like the traditional stylefarmhouse, this home could be what you’ve been searching for.
It boasts three bedrooms, a wrap around porch, a gorgeous master suite, two additional bedrooms, and a loft as well.
7. Three Bedroom Farmhouse with Optional Bonus Room
Do you want afarmhouse for a home, but you aren’t sure how much space you’ll need inside? This plan could be for you.
There’s room for flexibility in these plans. You can keep the home as a basic three bedroom, or you could add the bonus room for more space to hang out or sleep. Plus, this home has a formal entryway and dining room.
8. The Elegant Farmhouse
Sometimes we lean towards farmhouses which are classic and country but forget about the more elegant side. This house definitely steps up the elegance.
This home has a three-car garage, is two stories tall, has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and comes in right under 3000 square feet.
9. The Large Open Floor Plan Farmhouse
Are you looking for a farmhouse design with a little more room than most? Do you need a few extra bedrooms?
Well, this could be the house for you. This home boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a three car garage, is two stories, and comes in a little over 3800 square feet. Did I mention it was gorgeous?
10. The Modern Farmhouse
I love the look of this farmhouse. It still looks like a traditional farmhouse but has a few different features which set it apart.
The flat dormer is one which certainly stands out and gives this home a modern touch. But this is also a nice size home too. It has four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a two car garage, is all on one floor, and is almost 2700 square feet.
11. The One Story Modern Farmhouse
Some people like having a multi-level home. People (such as my husband) prefer to live all on one floor. If you are one of those people, this could be a good design for you.
This home has a simple design with three bedrooms. The master is on one side of the house while the other two bedrooms are on the opposite side of the home. Plus a garage and covered patio are part of this home as well.
12. The Four Bedroom Farmhouse
Are you needing a farmhouse with more room? Would you like to have a garage attached to your home as well?
Well, this could be the farmhouse plans you’ve been searching for. This home has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and a two car garage as well.
13. The Farmhouse Cottage
This farmhouse has a quaint design. When you walk in, you have a bedroom on your right and the restroom on the left. In front of you will be the kitchen, living room, and dining room area.
When you head upstairs to the second floor, you’ll have three more bedrooms and another bathroom. The only downside to this house is there’s no master suite. It isn’t a deal breaker for some but some would find this important.
14. The Award-Winning Farmhouse Plan
Apparently, this design for a farmhouse is quite beloved as it’s said to be an award-winning design. Though after looking at it, I can see why.
If you’re someone in search of a larger home, this could be a good option. This home has the ability to be a four or five bedroom home with four bathrooms. It’s also two stories, has a large kitchen, and a two-car garage too.
15. Field of Dreams Farmhouse
When you spend time thinking about farmhouses, there’s a good chancethis exact home comes to mind. They say this home has been a favorite for that exact reason.
Either way, this home is gorgeous. It’s two stories, is almost 2300 square feet, has three bedrooms, and a large front porch to enjoy the views.
16. The Southern Style Farmhouse
If you’re looking for a home with a good-sized wrap around front porch, you’ll be pleased to stroll across this house.
Not only does the home have a great porch, but it also four bedrooms, three and a half baths, an unfinished basem*nt, and comes in at approximately 2900 square feet.
17. American Farmhouse with Detached Garage and Breezeway
This home is another typical American style farmhouse. This time the garage is detached though. For some, this could be a deal breaker.
But the design also shows an amazing breezeway which gives you a covered area to walk under when trying to get from the home to the garage on a wet day.
18. The Full Farmhouse
This particular plan didn’t have a name, but I named it the ‘full’ farmhouse because it is full of everything anyone could want.
Not only does this home have a foyer, three bedrooms, a two-car garage, and a nice sized porch, but it also contains a breakfast nook and a formal dining room too.
19. Four Bedroom Two and a Half Bath Farmhouse
This farmhouse is another one with a large front porch which wraps around the entire front of the home. It’s a gorgeous place to sit and take in the views.
But it also a breakfast area, formal dining room, a farmer’s porch, foyer, and four bedrooms. It’s a truly gorgeous home.
20. The Wide-Open Farmhouse
This farmhouse has a beautiful wrap around front porch. It also offers a spacious master suite as well and two other bedrooms.
Whether you’re building in a subdivision or out on open acreage, this home will certainly be an eye-catcher.
21. The Weather Vane House
This is a unique farm home. It has a two car garage, but they’re offset from one another which gives the front of the home a unique appearance.
Also, the home has a front porch you can sit on, but it isn’t quite as pronounced as some. However, it has a weather vane on the roof which certainly brings out the country charm.
22. The Balcony Farmhouse
I’m in love with this house plan. The home offers a beautiful front porch perfect for enjoying warm nights.
But the first level of the house is where the additional bedrooms, kitchen, great room, and other home basics are located. The upstairs is a loft and large master suite. What’s even better, the master suite has a balcony.
23. The Barn Farmhouse
What says, ‘farmhouse’ more than a barn? This home looks like a barn from the outside but is anything but a barn on the inside.
In fact, the home has a nice sitting area out front, but the entire inside of the home is open and beautiful.
24. Four Gables Farmhouse
Southern Living knows their material when it comes to gorgeous houses. This is why it shouldn’t be a surprise they design homes as well. Which is where this farmhouse came from.
But this should also give you confidence because it appears this home has included almost everything most families would want. If you’re looking for a modest sized home with a well thought out floor plan, this could be it.
25. The Country Farmhouse
There are people in my area which have built this home. It’s gorgeous to the passer-by, but it also has a nice layout for the family who lives there.
