This Peppermint White Russian Drink Recipe is a festive, holiday treat! With peppermint, vodka and a touch of milk, it’s the perfect post-dinner drink!
If there is one drink that takes me back, it would be White Russians. They have had a special place in my heart for as long as I can remember. It is a co*cktail that my brother loved and I inherited the love of. It makes sense as it’s sweet, smooth and full of coffee. And it was an acceptable co*cktail disguised as a dessert. Because no night is complete without something sweet, in my opinion!
With the holidays in full swing, I dressed the White Russian drink recipe up in holiday attire. Peppermint coffee liquor brings this holiday co*cktail to life. The rest of the drink is extremely simple. A 1:1 ratio of vodka to Kahula, or coffee liquor. Have fun with this. Experiment withvanillavodka or even chocolate vodka! Then fill the glass with creamer and milk of choice. While the classic White Russian uses cream, I believe it still tastes pretty darn good with vanilla almond milk.
what is in a white russian drink?
- Vodka (Try vanilla, chocolate or peppermint!)
- Peppermint Kahula (Or regular if you use peppermint vodka)
- Milk of Choice
- Garnishes: Whipped Cream, Crushed Candy Canes
how to make a white russian drink
- In a co*cktail glass, filled half way with ice, add a 1:1 ratio of vodka and Kahula.
- Top with milk. Stir to combine.
- Garnish with whipped cream and crushed candy canes.
meal prep tips:
- since there is no ice in the drink, you can premix them, and store in the fridge until ready to consume. Then top with whipped cream, if desired! You can also add ice before the whipped cream, if you wish.

Hi Lenny, I updated the recipe this year to reflect cleaner ingredients as that is what direction my blog is moving. I apologize about the instructions not reflecting that! I did update and add a note on the recipe. Happy Holidays!

Hello, is there a way you can send me the OLD recipe that consisted of just the Kahlua, Vodka, and Peppermint Mocha Creamer? I don't remember the initial recipe calling for milk and would love to know how much creamer it originally called for, as that is the drink the folks loved that I made!
Meg says
Its the same amount. Enjoy!
I've never had a white russian but now I need to change that stat! And I'll admit to being one of those that tried to be in the 21 shot club. I think I made it to 18 but luckily no ill effects except for major dehydration the next day. ;)

Such a pretty and festive drink! I have to say my 21st was pretty lame! But that is kind of what happens when you are a New Years baby. Everyone is still hung over from their New Year's Eve partying, that the next day they don't really want to go out again. That is ok though, still good memories!

For another variation on a festive white russian,. Try 1 shot vodka 1 shot kahlua 1/3 pint of Hagen Daz Vanilla Ice cream and some chocolate shavings on top. Blend the first 3 ingredients together and freeze the glasses---just before serving remove from freezer and shave the chocolate on top-----Its a wonderful dessert and a delicious drink----enjoy
